Ireland Tour 2010
The tour off Ireland kicked off in Kilkenny at the Watergate Theatre. It was great to have two new band members join us for the tour. Ray Mcloughlin on piano and Danny Sheerin on Drums. We also had the pleasure of working with John Hogan, a fine country singer from the midlands and William Caulfield a very funny man from Belfast.

The first show ran smoothly as we had rehearsed the previous week and ironed out any uncertainties. The venue had a good crowd and everybody seemed to enjoy the mix of comedy, old country and off course Foster & Allen. It was a great start to a long tour.

There was many miles travelled up the length and breath off Ireland to many fantastic venues. There was a good attendance at all venues. My reason for not updating the blog on a daily basis was lake off time I’m afraid. So I’m sorry if some off you were looking forward to a daily brief.

The last leg off the tour was spent up north and we all stayed over for a few nights because it made the most sense. We enjoyed a social drink in Ballymena and had a great laugh with plenty of jokes and stories from Ollie as usual. We had a great night’s craic.

The final concert was a memorable one. We played the Clonard Cathedral off the Falls road in Belfast. It was a beautiful Cathedral steeped in history with a fine interior. The priests looked after us well with tea & sandwiches, scones and cake. The Church was full to capacity and was extremely atmospheric for the entire evening. A fantastic night was had by all and a great finish to a very enjoyable Irish tour.

The final dates for 2010 will be Christmas week; it’s hard to believe another year is almost drawing to a close. If you attended any off the Ireland dates please leave a comment

Tour Time Approaching
It's hard to believe we will be starting another tour in a couple of weeks. Firstly though we are off to the UK to Butlins for a concert this Friday. It's an early depart for the airport Friday morning i believe.

We will be preparing for rehearsals when we return as we have two new friends joining the band. Ray McLoughlin, former Daniel O'Donnell piano player and Danny Sheerin on drums. Danny plays many instruments as well as being a very accomplished singer and session musician. We are all looking forward to the show and the craic.

Please be aware Tony and Mick's new website has been launched which looks very well indeed. Please visit www.fosterandallen.com

I hope everyone is keeping well and hope some off you can make some off the irish shows

regards
Bryan

The Journey Home
We left Perth that afternoon to make our way to the airport for the journey home. It was hard to believe the tour was over already, and we would soon be back to our normal routine back home. Seb helped us all with check-in on the day and made sure all was running smoothly. We said our thanks and goodbyes to Seb, Michael & Adrian and made our way to departures. We didn’t have to wait long, and the flight to Kuala Lumpur took off on time as expected. Once in the air and we got settled in, some went to sleep, while others watched a movie or two. About 6hours or so later we landed in KL for the stopover before commencing our on ward journey to London and then onto Dublin. We only had a 1hour wait in KL before departing. It was time for sleep, and I managed to get a good 5hours snooze along with more movies, some food and some music before we found ourselves landing in London, Heathrow. It was about 6am London time. We had a few hours to wait in London before our final Aer Lingus Departure to Dublin.

Upon Landing in Dublin it was nice and warm with a few clouds in the sky. Our bus arrived to take me as far as Mullingar before heading onwards towards Leitrim. Everyone was a little tired but fine, considering the journey. A big welcome was ready from all closest to me upon my return and it was great to see everyone. After a few hours it was like the tour was just a dream. A surprise Birthday Celebration was sprung the following Saturday night where a very liquid party was thoroughly enjoyed and went on into the very early hours of Sunday morning. After a big hangover on Sunday and Monday it was time to get back to work and settle in to normality.

We all arrived home safely which was the main thing. I suppose we must have covered up on 15,000 Miles or more on the whole trip. It was enjoyed thoroughly and we look forward to our return in 2012. Thanks to all who got involved, said hello, got the CD I look forward to informing you all about the Ireland Tour in October.

Many thanks
Bryan

Perth Concert Hall, Perth
The sun was shining in Perth, with a nice 22 Degrees, making for a very nice last day in Australia. I had an early walk up town at 9.30am, sat and had coffee in the early morning sun. Tony, Seb and I arranged last night to meet at 1pm to go up to the city beach for lunch. As planned we met at 1pm, Seb was the pilot and the food advisor! We went to a nice place overlooking the Indian Ocean and had a great meal. First marks to Seb, what a good choice! We returned to the hotel at about 3pm.

We walked over to the Perth Concert Hall for 5pm for the sound check which went well. Mick and I went through some new tunes for the Irish Tour in October after that. We drank tea and sat around before getting changed for the last time, before going on stage. A large crowd was present on the night, which was every bit a lively as the Mandurah show. The show passed quickly and the final words of the tour finished at 10.30pm. Another tour off Australia was complete!

We have performed in front off thousands, talked plenty, eaten plenty and off course singing and playing plenty. It was a very enjoyable and successful tour and I am looking forward to our return in 2012 already. I would like to thank every one who has listened to my CD along the way; I hope everyone who has one, thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Thanks to every one who said hello and the presents received in Hobart form Paula and Francis. I hope you all enjoyed the blog as well; it was worth the effort I think.

We make our way to Perth Airport today at 1pm to catch our 4.30 Flight home. We are scheduled to arrive into Dublin at 11.30am on Wednesday. It along flight but I’m sure it will go as fast as the tour!!

Many thanks
Bryan

Mandurah
We departed Adelaide at 9.30am to catch our flight to Perth which was about 3hours. Still feeling tired we loaded up, checked all the stuff in, waited around for a while, boarded the plane, sat back and tried to sleep. The flight actually went quite quick, and we touched down in a sunny Perth at 12.30 local time. We gained some two extra hours with the time difference. Once checked in, I went for lunch up by the harbour and enjoyed the sun shining for a change. Once I returned we left for Mandurah at 4pm to make the one hour drive south.

Mandurah was a lovely place on the coast with a fine new theatre. Everyone was still felling tired, I guess the early start from Hobart and a bit of jet lag was taking it’s toll.
The crowd once again was lively and made for an enjoyable show which passed very quickly! Once all the signing and work was complete, we drove back to Perth and stopped off at Fast Eddies, where some spare ribs, Milk shakes and burgers were enjoyed. I could have slept standing up at this stage; it was off for a good nights sleep.

The 35th and last show tomorrow night in the Perth Concert Hall, Bringing to a close and very enjoyable, fast tour of Australia and New Zealand for 2010.

Her Majesty's Theatre, Adelaide
It was an early start for us all on Saturday morning as we left at 4am to make our way to the airport for a flight to Melbourne then on too Adelaide. Once at Hobart Airport all the equipment and luggage was checked in to arrive in Adelaide. Once we landed in Melbourne we had about a 1 hour wait for the connecting flight to Adelaide, so this was not too long.

We arrived at the Hotel in Adelaide at 10.30am, taking in the time difference of 1hour back. It was straight off for a sleep, however the sleep did not last for long, as some very annoying drilling and banging was coming from some work being carried out four floors below. Some room changes were made for some off the crew but their was not much good sleep achieved. I walked for some food at 2.30pm feeling tired, hoping that some good food would do the trick. We arrived for the sound check at 5pm feeling tired but the show must go on.

The venue in Adelaide was, Her Majesty’s Theatre, which we also performed at the last time we were here. The Adelaide crowd was definitely one off the liveliest off the tour. Even though we were all tired it helped us tremendously. After the show we went back to the hotel, had a drink and watched Australia play a draw in the world cup. The atmosphere was good. Mick and Moyra were joined by some friends, while a few of the regulars Alan, Kerry and Annette from Adelaide were also there. Once a few drinks were enjoyed it was off for a well overdue sleep

Good night!

Wrest Point, Hobart
We departed Lanuceston at 10am for the 140km or so journey to Hobart. It was a pleasant drive as the weather was fine. We drove into Hobart at 12.30 and checked in. Tony and Mick had a radio interview at 2pm. Wrest Point is quite a large Casino, Venue and Hotel, all in one package, and is a regular venue when we visit Tasmania.

After some lunch at 2pm it was time to catch up on some reading and music before walking to the venue at 5 for the sound check. As usual all went well.

A large crowd had gathered for the concert, and I met some familiar faces from the last concert here 2 years ago. Thanks for saying hello once again and thanks for the presents Paula and Francis. The concert went well, and once the signing was complete, everyone left to get a few hours sleep. We needed to depart Hobart at 4am to catch a 6am flight to Melbourne and then onto Adelaide for a concert later that evening. So we will all have tired heads on us by the time we reach Adelaide. We are due to arrive early enough, so some afternoon snoozes before the show, I’m sure will be taken.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated over the last remaining few days off the tour

Town Hall, Burnie
The sun was out in Launceston this morning, what a surprise, as the night was filled with wind and rain. I spent the morning relaxing and catching up on some work with coffee off course. At 12.30 Tony, Seb and I went into town once again for lunch. We went to the same spot as it was great.

We left Launceston at 3pm for the drive to Burnie which took about 2Hours. The drive down was nice with views of the countryside and the ocean enjoyed. Once we arrived it was the usual setting up and sound check for the show. All went well as we have it down to a fine art at this stage. The show was full, the atmosphere was good, what more could we ask for. Plenty remained for signing at the end of the show. Yet another great night was enjoyed.

We arrived back in Launceston at 12.30pm, and it was off to bed and complete the blog for today. We leave at 10am in the morning for Hobart

Take care

Country Club Resort, Launceston
The nights sleep was interrupted with the fire alarm sounding at 4.30am. It was load, with a siren in my room. This happens quite a few times when touring. I took a sniff but couldn’t smell any smoke, so rolled over and waited for the noise to stop. After about 15 minutes the annoyances stopped and yes, yet again no fire. Hopefully I don’t get caught out with this attitude some day.

Tony, Seb and I met at 12.30 to drive into Launcestown for lunch. We surveyed three potential eateries, and then decided on one. We backed a winner! The food was great.
After an enjoyable lunch we made our way back to the Country Club and met Mick. It was then off for Cherry Trifle and a coffee and a chat. Full as a tick, it was off to our rooms to relax for an hour or two before the sound check.

It was great to have a day without a drive for a change. We just left our rooms and made our way to the Hall within the Country Club for the Sound Check. Once the sound check was complete it was back to the room to watch some TV before changing. The sell out concert kicked off about 10minutes late and all went to plan. All the classic song went down well, as usual, and the stories from Mick were thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. Quite a few remained once again to meet the lads and brought to an end another night.

It’s a drive to Burnie tomorrow.

Travel Day
We departed Melbourne Monday morning at 10am to make our way to Melbourne Airport for the 12.30 flight to Lanunceston, Tasmania. When we arrived at the airport it was pretty full. The computers were down so it was back to basics for the staff at the airport. Michael and Seb returned the vehicles which had over 5200 miles clocked since leaving Brisbane. One off the staff directed us to group check-in which made life somewhat easier for us as we had all the excess baggage to check in. Once all the equipment and bags had gone through there was just enough time for coffee, before boarding. The flight was about 50minutes so we were arrived in Lanunceston in no time. We waited for all the equipment and bags to arrive, got new vans and cars, loaded up, and made the short trip to the Country Club Resort. It was raining again, we might as well have been arriving back home.

The evening was spent relaxing, with a few movies, then down to the casino to spin a few dollars to try and make some more. No such luck!! So after that Tony, Seb, Ollie, Seamus and I met for a few quite drinks. Mick and Moyra relaxed, Michael returned to his home to his family after a long time on the road. The country club was a quite spot in the country more or less so not a lot more to do. It’s another day with a show tomorrow night. The end of the tour is drawing near!

Royal Theatre, Castlemaine
In was a concert in Castlemaine tonight, so it was our last day to spend some time in Melbourne before we leave tomorrow. The day was much the same, quite overcast with the temperature a cool 8 degress. It was plenty of walking around the streets and down to the river for coffee. We departed Melbourne at 3pm for the drive to Castlemaine. When we drove into Castlemaine it was immediately noticeable what a town of old charm this was. There were plenty of old houses with plenty of character as we made our way to the venue. The concert was in the Royal Theatre. I found out early on this was Australia’s oldest remaining Theatre. What a privilege to be here. Back stage it was like we arrived in a time machine. This place retained all its old character and I have to say it was a change from the norm and good for the mind. It was very cold tonight outside with frost not far away.

The concert got under way on time and the venue was alive with laughing once Mick got the stories under way. It was a funny night, there were all sorts of different types of laughs coming from the crowd, and it was great. Once the work was over we loaded up and made the journey back to Melbourne. We got into Melbourne about 12pm. It’s a 10am departure in the morning for Tasmania.

Hamer Hall, Melbourne
A good lie in was enjoyed on Sunday morning as the weather was cold and wet outside. When breakfast was had I went up to the market on South bank where all the artists and creative types sell there wares. It was under the bridge so the weather was not a problem. I went for lunch later that day and then it was off to the Hamer Hall.

This venue is amazing and has had performances form many of the world’s top performers from James Taylor to Michael Buble. All the dressing rooms had baby grand pianos and were very posh. The sound check went well with the very best in equipment in house. This venue brings added nerves during a performance if you thought about it.

About 1100 people were in attendance for the show and the vibe was good throughout. Afterwards the signing was busy and took at least an hour. After all was done Adrian Bohm very kindly brought us all for a meal to one off the local fine Indian Restaurants. After a very good Chicken Rogan Josh we returned to the hotel, full and tired. A called home to make sure all was well with Teresa and Kelley and went off for a good night sleep

Bryan

Kernot Hall, Morwell
We had a few hours in Melbourne to enjoy on Saturday morning. I went for coffee up some off the nice old streets across form Flinders Street Station and the vibe was good. I sat and enjoyed the commotion and thought about everyone I missed at home.

After a good stroll around town I made my way back to meet the crew and drive to Morwell. Tony and Mick had some more radio interviews on the day and everyone was in gear for another show.

The Kenot Hall had a good crowd and the show went down well yet again. It’s our 27th show now at this stage with 8 remaining. It’s been a very fast tour it’s hard to believe.

It’s the mighty Hammer Hall in Melbourne tomorrow night

Bryan

Frankston Arts Centre, Frankston
We departed Geelong at 10am and made our way towards Melbourne. It was another overcast day. We arrived into Melbourne at 1pm and checked in and went for breakfast. I found an internet café to update the blog and then walked up by the river and over to the square and watched the large outdoor screen where a concert for the opening ceremony off the world cup was been screened.

We were leaving Melbourne at 3pm to make the 2.15 minute drive to Frankston. Everyone is quite tired at the minute with all the travelling and constant performing.
The crowd in Frankston were excellent and really enjoyed the night. Many people remained at the end off the night to meet the lads and get things signed.

We drove back to Melbourne that night getting in at about 12.45. Everyone was tired, it was a long day.

Bryan

Ford Theatre, Geelong
We left a wet and windy Warranbool on Thursday morning and began our journey to Geelong at 10am. Francis Neo met to say goodbye that morning, and again we thanked him for the food last night.

We arrived in Geelong at about 12.30 and then went for some breakfast. Tony and Mick had a few radio interviews to do. I went for a walk down to the water. The weather was in the balance once again so I made my way back to the hotel.

We left for the Ford Theatre at 4.30 and got to work straight away. There was another great turnout on the night. The show went well and I attached a few pictures form the night, maybe you can recognise someone you know. We got back to the hotel and it was off to bed. It’s Frankston Tomorrow night.

Warrnabool
We departed Horsham at 10am and started the wet drive to Warrnambool. The drive was good through the forests and up the long flat roads, even though then rain was falling. We reached Cavendish, a small village and stopped for breakfast about 1hour into the drive. The restaurant boasted supplying the largest Hamburger in Australia, a whopping 8kg burger costing $149 with a 23cm Diameter bun. If you managed to consume it within 1hour, it was free. That was the challenge; however we passed on this one today and had a standard breakfast. Maybe next time!

We arrived in Warrnambool at 2.30pm. The wind and rain was strong so we all remained indoor until we left for the venue at 5pm. An old regular venue while in Australia we settled in straight away. An old friend of us all, and popular local, former restaurateur “Francis Neoh” made contact with Mick and Tony and informed us, he would have food after the show back stage for us all. When Francis had his Chinese Restaurant about 4years ago, he would invite us over and look after us very well.

The show got under way to a good crowd. We performed all too old songs once again and finished with a rousing round off applause. Once all the work was complete, it was time for the eagerly awaited food from Francis. He had Roast Duck, Chicken, Bread and Salad all laid out on a table back stage. We all settled in, and filled our plates, had a glass of wine and took pictures. Francis brought his video camera to capture the moment. I was nominated chief camera man, so I had a bit of fun.

Once we were fed and watered, it was back to the Motel for a good nights sleep. The heating was on full blast in the room, it was a cold 6-7 degrees outside. It’s off to Geelong in the morning.

Horsham
It was a cold start to the day in Ballarat, as we loaded up our luggage for the drive to Horsham. The sky was indecisive as to what was in store for the day. The rain managed to stay away for the drive as we reached Horsham at 1.30pm

Not a lot happened today. The usual routine ensued. We left for the venue at 5.30. The concert was taking place in the cinema in town. It was very cold back stage with no heaters. It was hard for the hands to play. After the first half we warmed up thanks to the lights on stage. The show went well and plenty of people remained to get Tony and Mick’s Signature.

After all the commotion Tony, Seamus, Michael, Ollie, Seb and I went to a warm pub for a drink. After a laugh it was off to bed for 12.15pm. It’s Warrnambool in the morning. Hopefully we get the chance to see some migrating whales.

Take soon
Bryan

Her Majesty's Theatre, Ballarat
Tony, Ollie, Seamus, Michael and myself left Shepparton at 10am for the journey to Ballarat, while Mick, Moyra and Sebastian left at 8am as they had a special appointment at Sovereign City where they got an invite to visit this cultural centre, with it’s Gold Mine and old town where people are dressed as long ago.

Our crew made the usual breakfast stop in one of the small towns along the way and visited a few shops selling souvenirs, but nobody made a purchase. Back on the road and we arrived in Ballarat at 2pm. It was cold as any day in Ireland with a temperature of 7 degrees accompanied with a sharp wind chill. With the jacket on, a quick walk up town was had, for a warm coffee, before returning to the hotel to catch up on some emails. We walked across to the beautiful, Majesty’s Theatre at 5pm. It was a lovely old Theatre form the 1900’s, I think, and is always a regular on the Australian tours.

Later that evening, Mick told us, he managed to hold a gold bar at Sovereign City which was freshly poured on the day. It was worth a pretty penny apparently. Mick and Moyra thoroughly enjoyed there day.

It was time for stage and a packed house was eagerly awaiting the performance. As usual in Ballarat the show went down a storm with the crowd and everyone left with a smile.

The days are moving fast with well over 2000 miles covered since leaving Brisbane. Its Horsham tomorrow night, talk to you soon

Bryan

East Bank Centre, Shepparton
We left Bendigo at 10am commencing our journey to Shepparton which was about a 2 hour drive. The drive down was across very flat country so was very straight forward. We pulled in half way for breakfast in a small town which I cannot recall the name off, however the food was good and enjoyed by Tony, Ollie, Michael, Seamus and I.

We then continued to Shepparton and reached our hotel at 1.30pm. We departed for the venue at 3pm as the show was commencing at 5pm. We were met at the venue by some regular friends who always bring us nice cream cake, sausage rolls and other treats to make sure we survive on tour. After a couple rounds of cream cake was thoroughly enjoyed by all it was time to get ready for the concert. The venue was full and a good evening was enjoyed by all. Many fans remained afterwards to meet the lads as usual. We said our goodbyes at the venue at 9pm and went for a few drinks while Tony, Mick and Moyra enjoyed some food at a fine local pub in town.

It’s Ballarat tomorrow, another regular venue in Australia for over 20 years for the guys. I’ll keep you posted off how the day went shortly

Regards
Bryan

The Capital, Bendigo
We left Canberra at 9am for the journey to Bendigo where we would play the Capital Theatre. Since I first started playing with Foster and Allen, the Capital was always one of the regular venues on the Australian Tours. The drive down was a mixture of sunshine and clouds with the clouds taking over as the we got closer to Bendigo. We stopped for breakfast in a small town which had museums and tourist stuff dedicated to Ned Kelly the famous outlaw of past times in Australia. We had a brief look around as time was not in our favour, and once again got into the vehicles to continue the trek to Bendigo

We arrived at 1.30pm which was pretty good going and done the usual checking in to our accommodation. Yeah the hotel thing is reaching the point of boredom at this stage; you really do miss your own bed and surrounding after a will especially home cooked food of your choice.

We didn’t get up too much during the day, just a short walk into town to get lunch and then back again to watch some TV too see what was going on around the world. It was then off to the Capital which was more or less across the road from our Hotel.

The night gathered a large crowd lively crowd as usual and all went well. Quite a few once again remained for signing at the end of the show. Once all our stuff was gathered, Michael, Ollie and I went across the road to a bar for two drinks before retiring for another night. Its Shepparton tomorrow night, talk to you then

Bryan

Hellenic Club, Canberra
We met at 9am the following morning to make our way to Canberra, the political capital of Australia. The drive up was a steep climb over the mountains with twisting roads and forests. It was great to take it all in along the way. We stopped about an hour into the journey for breakfast in a small sleepy town to have breakfast in the Royal Café as it was called. The lads ordered the Royal breakfast, a feast fit for a king!! I had a humble bacon sandwich and a coffee and not the royal treatment.

After breakfast a quick stroll around the town while Seamus and Michael refuelled.
All aboard and it was the final leg of the journey of to Canberra. We arrived at 2.30pm, checked in, relaxed for a few hours before heading off to the Hellenic Club.

The venue was full and the concert got under way on time with all appreciating the songs and stories. After the show quite a few remained for signing. One man in particular had the original single of Maggie with him. Tony, Mick and Ken Harding signed the single for him and he was one happy collector. I attached the pictures for you all to get a better understanding off the event.

After all the work was complete we remained backstage and downed some bottled beer, told storied, laughed loads and then left for the hotel.

A great night ending to a long day

Regards
Bryan

Soldier Club, Bateman's Bay
It was a drive from Wollongong to Bateman’s Bay further south. The sun was out and the day quite pleasant. The drive was about 2hours and we departed at 10am. The journey down was scenic passing the ocean and up over the hills. We were joined once again by Ken and Margaret Harding with Mick and Moyra accompanying them for the journey. Tony, Michael and I drove in the Toyota Teraga while Seamus and Ollie travelled in the van.

Once we arrived in Bateman’s Bay our Motel was located across from the bay, so it was off for a walk up by the boats for a look around. All was enjoyed, so after the walk it was back to the motel to prepare for the concert.

We left at 5pm arriving at the Soldiers Club and carried out the usual sound check and setting up. Once complete it was back stage for the tea. The concert went well once again with a full house in attendance. It was a quite night afterwards, with everyone feeling a bit tired. We are now about half way through the tour with many miles covered and many people met along the journey. Time is passing fast though only another 18 shows to do. It’s up early tomorrow for the drive to Canberra

Regards
Bryan

Wollongong
We departed Sydney at 10am and drove south towards Wollengong for tonight’s show. The drive was only 1.30mins and along the way we stopped on the coast at a fantastic location called Bald Hill, I think. We looked out over the Pacific and watched a hang glider fly across the bay. I attached some pictures for your enjoyment. The then followed the road along the ocean towards Wollongong and arrived at 2am. Once we checked in it was off for a walk into town to get lunch and go down towards a very empty beach. I took a few more photos and made it back to the hotel for 3.30pm

We left for the venue at 4.30pm and got to work straight away once we arrived. The night was sold out, I think, and the crowd were good craic and lively from the start. A large crowd remained after the show to meet the lads and we didn’t leave the venue until about 10.45pm. I attached a few pictures form tonight, one featuring Ken Harding and his wife Margate, Ken is the man responsible for launching “Maggie” in Australia and New Zealand, which most off you know became a big hit for the lads.

We leave tomorrow morning at 10am to make our way to Bateman’s Bay. It sounds nice, looking forward to the drive down

Bryan

Sydney, Day off
Sydney on Monday Morning was experiencing the tail end of a storm that caused quite a bit of damage further south. The wind was strong and when the rain came down, it done it big time. I went off to an internet café to update the blog and have a coffee and braved the elements. I picked up an umbrella to try and keep dry as I was determined not to let bad weather come in the way of one of our only days off. Once I got the blog updated, I had breakfast and decided what to do for the day. Tony and Mick had some business to attend to while Ollie met with his brother. Not quite sure what the rest of the team got up too.

After breakfast, I went walking towards the Opera House and got there a little wet, the umbrella was in a bad state. The wind tore it to shreds. So that went in the bin and a short while later the rain stopped for a while. I walked around the Opera house and enjoyed the sights, had a coffee, and then went up around the harbour area. I decided to get the boat over to Darling Harbour. The weather was in the balance all the time, but it was better than staying in a hotel room. Once I departed the boat in Darling Harbour I walked around, and then went for lunch. I made my way back to the hotel just off Hyde Park and took my shoes off to relieve my aching feet from all the walking. It was getting dark so we arranged to meet for a drink before retiring from another day.

The day was enjoyed but it would have been a lot better with sun. We depart Sydney for the last time and head south to Wollongong in the morning.

Bryan

Workers Club, Ravesby
It’s a Sunday afternoon in Sydney and the expected storm has not hit yet. I had quite a relaxing day. I strolled around Hyde Park and then went for a coffee and sat outside and watched the world go by. The weather was mild however it was quite overcast. The expected storm is due to hit Sydney in the early hours of Monday Morning, so the news reports. And Monday is our day off!! Ahh well

We left for the venue at 4pm. We all travelled in the one vehicle and the trip took us past Sydney airport which looked busy as the planes were landing and taking off from different runways. When we arrived at the working mans club it was business as usual. Seamus had the equipment working and the sound check got under way. The concert kicked off at 7pm as scheduled. The show went well with no fire alarms or other dramas taking place thankfully. Some regular faces turned up on the night as well as Adrian Bohm, the man responsible for arranging the tour.

After the show we drove back to Sydney and got there for 12 midnight. I am looking forward to our day off, hopefully the rain and wind expected does not ruin matters

On Tuesday we say our goodbyes to Sydney for the last time this year and make our way to Wollengong and eventually Melbourne.

All the best
Bryan

RSL Club, Rooty Hill
The rain was falling hard in Newcastle on Saturday morning as we loaded our luggage into the van for the journey to Sydney at 9am. The drive was only about an hour and a half, so this was grand. We stopped for breakfast along the way and arrived in Sydney at around 12. It was a 5pm show in Rooty Hill so we left at 2pm.

Sound check complete, there was an hour for some lunch before the show. We didn’t get started until 5.30 as the crowd were slow coming in. We had about five songs done during the performance when the fire alarm sounded and the power cut off the speaker system. A loud alarm sounded and we sat and waited for someone to respond. Apparently it was the warning alarm that the kitchen had triggered. Someone must have over cooked the turkey. Ha ha.

After about a 15 minute delay the siren stopped, the power resumed and the show got under way once again. The crowd responded well, and was attended by some off the regulars when we visit Australia which included, Lynda Badger, Annette and Christie. Hope you enjoyed the show!!

We didn’t get leaving Rooty Hill until 10.30pm after all the delays. We made the drive back to Sydney to our hotel and arrived at about 11.15. Tony, Ollie, Michael, Seb and I had a few drinks at the hotel, Michael, Seb and I then went for some food and a few more drinks to a quite bar and had a good laugh. It was a long day, but a good day that ended well. Its Revesby tomorrow night, hopefully nobody burns a turkey in the kitchen!!!

Wests League Club, Newcastle
We left the Town of Taree at 9am after breakfast to make the long drive to Newcastle. The weather once again was overcast with bursts of rain throughout the drive making travelling conditions unpleasant. The road to Newcastle weaved through many forests and rivers some the drive was quite nice.

We stopped a few times for coffee and the chance to stretch the legs along the way in some off the roadside cafes. We arrived in Newcastle at 2.30pm and checked into to our hotel which was in the same building as the venue so the driving was over for the day. The sun made a welcome appearance so a walk to get some exercise was taken through the surrounding streets. There was not much about, as the area was on the outskirts of Newcastle. When I got back to the hotel, I had lunch and then made my way down to the venue to get organised for another show. All went to plan and the sound check was completed quickly. There was then a 1hour 30 minutes window of time to hang around, so it was off with a few dollars to try my luck in the casino downstairs. No richer an hour or so later and it was backstage to get dressed and do the show. The venue was full and another lively show was had. When the work was complete we made our way downstairs for a few drinks, Seamus, Ollie, Michael, Seb, Tony, Mick, Moyra, Ken Harding who was the man who released “Maggie” in Australia and his wife Margaret were also present. After a few bottles of beer it was off to bed after what was a long day. It’s off to Sydney once again tomorrow for a show in Rooty Hill.

Manning Entertainment Centre, Taree
We set off from Grafton at 9am to make the long drive to Taree. The weather was not good, heavy rain was present for most of the day. We stopped in Coffs Harbour for breakfast which was about 1 hour south of Grafton. Once we found parking we then had to dodge the rain as we made our way to a café. Once inside Tony, Michael, Ollie Seamus and I settled down for some food as we were all starving. Their was not much conversation once the food arrived as we all got stuck in and enjoyed the grub.

On our way back to our transport we walked through the local market where people were selling there wares form fruit to curry, candles and veg. There were all some buskers on the corners playing songs which added more atmospheres to the area. We stopped for a listen then ran to van and car. 2 hours or so later we pulled in to a roadside café and station to refuel and grad some ice cream, then it was the last stretch to Taree. The rain was bucketing down so much for sunny Australia!!

We arrived at roughly 2.30pm and got checked in. We were all pretty tired after the journey especially the old lads… ha ha….. We left for the venue at 6pm for the 8pm show and done the usual sound check. When the sound check was complete the rest of the gang played some cards for a few cents, Moyra came out on top. The show started on time and we went through the songs as usual which were well received.

Once again we made our way out front to sign and meet the fans and talk about the music on CD’S ect. When we finished it was back stage for a relaxing beer and a chat to unwind. We left the venue at 11.30pm and made our way back to the hotel. The town off Taree was dead at this time, there was nobody about with everywhere shut. It was off to catch up on some emails and enjoy a good nights rest

Its Newcastle tomorrow

I’ll catch up soon

Community Centre, Grafton
It was a brilliant day filled with sunshine when we left our hotel in Ballina at 10am. The boats were sailing up the river and their was a nice breeze to help them along. We stopped in the centre of town for breakfast before embarking on the 2 hour drive to Grafton. On route we following the river and passed some fantastic forests which were nice to look at against the blue sky. We stopped for fuel about an hour into the journey and I picked up a fresh pineapple for a dollar, too be enjoyed before the show this evening. We got to Grafton around 2pm and completed the usual checking in at another hotel. I then went for a walk up the town and enjoyed the sunny day that has been rare since arriving in Australia unfortunately.

It was all systems go at 5.30pm as we met at the vehicles to make our way to the venue. There were some sandwiches laid on when we arrived, so a few were eaten before the sound check to keep the hunger at bay. Sound check complete it was back stage for some more sandwiches and tea as we talked about what we got up to in the afternoon. Some went for a snooze, some went for food and others relaxed in the sun.
The concert went well with the locals of Grafton, with Maggie receiving a grand round of applause. During the interval we placed our order with Seb for some McDonalds to arrive after the show was finished. Mick and Tony arrived in the White suits for the second half of our performance, with them receiving a load cheer from the crowd. When we finished the last song you could near enough smell the McDonalds which awaited us back stage, we could hardly wait. But their was still work to be done, the crowd who were waiting out front to meet the lads came first so the McDonalds had to wait. Once all the signing was over we tucked into an array of Cheese Burgers, Toasted Sandwiches and fries. The wine was opened along with some beers and the craic started. The Pineapple was cut and the knife broke, it was only a cheap one from China, You get what you pay for Michael!! Ollie had a sour face eating the fruit, as the saying goes he looked like a bull dog chewing a wasp. It was 11pm before the venue security informed us we had to leave. Typical Irish, last to leave again!! The craic was good.

The town was quite, so it was off for some well deserved sleep. Early starts tomorrow with a 3 to 4 hour drive to Taree.

Good night

RSL Club, Ballina
We left Toowoomba at 10am and the first stop was for breakfast in one of the local cafes in town. Tony, Ollie, Seamus, Michael and I were together for some good old bacon, eggs and toast washed down with coffee and tea. Once the bellies were full we made our way to Ballina. The drive down the mountain was spectacular with views across the country side. The road was that steep down the trucks needed to navigate in first gear so as not too loose control.

We stopped off for fuel along the way and some fruit was purchased for the rest off the ride. The fruit tastes so much better here than in Ireland. Once we arrived at our hotel in Ballina we checked in. The hotel was located along a lovely river with great views. The sun was shining at last so a short stroll up the town was had. Ballina is quite a large town with plenty off little shops keeping the local economy going.

We left for the venue at 4.30 and the usual duties took place. Setting up guitars, microphones, keyboards and Mick looked after his accordion. The sound check got under way and was completed quickly by Seamus. The rest of the gang gathered to play cards before the concert and I went to the restaurant downstairs to grad food.

The venue was a sell out with a very lively and vocal crowd. People were shouting for the old Foster and Allen classics like Maggie and The Bunch of Thyme from the beginning. They all left not disappointed. My version of Waltzing Matilda went down well also, once again with the crowd filling the room with song.

When the show and signing was over we gathered out belongings and tried to locate some more food, unfortunately everywhere was closed we could find. It’s a drive south to Grafton today for another show

I will update later tonight

Empire Theatre, Toowoomba
We left Brisbane on Monday Morning to make the two hour drive or so on to Toowoomba. It was my Birthday today so this was unusual. I got all the wishes first thing Monday morning.

The drive to Toowoomba was very scenic as it was up quite high with great views of the surrounding countryside. The only difference with Brisbane was it was quite colder. Their was a large crowd of at least 900 people attending the show so the atmosphere was filled with energy. The crowd launched into song from the start and the whole concert went very quickly and was a very enjoyable night for all.

When we returned to the Hotel, I was greeted with a birthday cake from some of the regular fans at the shows. Thanks Kerry, Alan, Annette and Jan for the effort, very kind of you, thanks. We had quite a few beers and a good bit of craic on the night and it was 2am before retiring for some sleep feeling a little drunk.

I awoke feeling fine on Tuesday morning after breakfast was had of course. We left at 10am for the drive to Ballina.

Thanks
Bryan

Arts Centre, Gold Coast
Saturday in Brisbane was full of life. I walked up to the centre of town for some breakfast outside one of the smart cafes. Coffee, eggs and bacon was thoroughly enjoyed as I sat back and watched all the shoppers over my coffee as the sun was warming the back of my neck. What more could you ask for in starting a Saturday off.

I went down to the Botanical gardens then for a stroll and took in the sights which were not far from the hotel. I made myself back for 1pm and met the gang to head off to the Gold Coast for the early show. The Arts Centre is located in Surfers Paradise and was a fine newly built Theatre. We got our sound check done so I then went outside to catch what was left of the sun and take a few pictures which I attached.

The show kicked off on time and all went to plan. It was then out front to meet the fans and take a few more pictures for the blog. On the return journey to Brisbane we stopped of at McDonalds and met Ronald, take a look at the picture he is a big fella. We grabbed a coffee and hit the road again. When we got back to Brisbane we all went up to a restaurant for some food and were joined by Adrian Bohm, promoter for the tour. The craic was good. It was back to the hotel for 12; Sunday is a busy day with two shows so it was right not to have too many beers after the meal.

If you enjoyed the show in the Arts Centre please leave a comment.

Talk to you later

Civic Centre, Nambour
It was the Civic Centre, Nambour on Friday night. The drive from our base in Brisbane was about 1 hour. When we arrived we got to work straight away and got through the sound check without to much difficulty. Backstage spirits were good and we had some laughs over a few cups of tea before the show.

It was a good night once again, thanks to everyone who said hello. Have a look through some of the pictures taken you might me their!!

We got back to Brisbane that night at around 11.30. Another night another day tomorrow, it’s up to the beautiful gold coast, where we have an early concert commencing at 5pm

Bryan

Ipswich, QLD
We said our goodbyes to New Zealand on Monday and made the trip to Sydney that afternoon. We arrived into Sydney Airport at around 5.30pm and gathered all the luggage and equipment together which was all in one piece, thankfully. When we made our way outside it was disappointing, the rain was falling heavily with a few bursts of lightening to rattle the nerves. We got the vehicles loaded and made our way to the hotel to relax for the night. Tuesday in Sydney was raining heavily, I don’t think it stopped all day, we must have brought it with us from Ireland, as the saying goes….. So not a lot of sight seeing was possible, I walked up as far as the Lamborghini Car Showroom and drooled over these fine machines for a while, maybe one day!! Tony and Mick had interviews with quite a few radio stations throughout the day so the rain was not an issue for them. Tuesday night I occupied myself at a local comedy club and enjoyed a good laugh.
Wednesday was much of the same, plenty of rain, no sunshine so plenty of coffee was the order of the day until we left for Brisbane at 3.30pm.

We got to our hotel in Brisbane and went for a bite to eat. It was a lot warmer so this was good. Thursday was a busy morning as my guitar had a slight problem due to the long flight over, so it was of to the local guitar shop to try and get it sorted for the concert that night. My guitar was repaired which made me happy, so it was time for more great Australian coffee before we left to drive to Ipswich at 3.30pm for a 7pm show.

The show went well with a good turnout on the night, plenty remained at the end of the night to meet and greet the lads. Once loaded up we made the 1hour drive back to Brisbane which was the first show down of the Australian Leg of the tour. If you attended the show please leave a comment.

Its Nambour tonight which is a two hour drive from Brisbane, log on tomorrow to catch up with any news

Thanks
Bryan

The Opera House, Wellington
We were on the road at 10am to leave Palmerston North for another year, and make our way to Wellington for an evening concert which would start at 5pm. Tony, Sean (Tour Manager) and I stopped off for breakfast along the way, and we arrived in Wellington at around 12.30. We booked in to the Holiday Inn and got organised and I went up the town for a good walk before returning to the hotel to get my clothes for the show, leaving at 3pm. We got into our dressing rooms and went and got the sound check underway before getting some coffee and tea before the show.

There was a good turn out for the show and everything went smoothly. The usual signing went ahead after the show and we left the venue at around 8.30 which felt unusual as it was an early concert.

Seamus, Ollie and I went for a few drinks in one of the local Irish bars after the show but Wellington was very quite with only a handful of people in drinking. The must take Monday Morning very serious over here In Wellington. The craic was good over a few drinks so it was back to the hotel for another attempt at a good nights sleep. Unfortunately this did not happen as I’m in Starbucks have a coffee since 8am and now getting the chance to update the Blog.

So we are off to Sydney today where Tony and Mick undertake three days of PR with the local media. Then we fly to Brisbane on Wednesday for a show on Thursday. I have also attached a few pictures from the last couple of days, hope you enjoy

Talk to you soon

Regent Theatre, Palmerston North
After what was not a great night’s sleep, we left Auckland at 9am and made our way to the airport for our flight to Wellington. We arrived in Wellington Airport at 12.30 and once all the equipment was together we loaded the vehicles and made the 2Hour drive to Palmerston North for the show that night. The drive was interesting, taking in the sights from the ocean to the rolling New Zealand hills, fantastic.

Once we booked into our hotel we had about an hour before making our way to the venue for the 7pm Show. The sound check took a little longer than usual because of the new equipment which took some getting used too. The show started bang on 7pm and again the crowd seemed delighted to see Foster and Allen back in New Zealand once again with a very warm welcome received when they walked on stage.

The show went down well with the entire crowd and we received a loud encore for more song at the end of the show. When Tony and Mick walked of stage the shouts for more continued. We made our way out front to meet everyone and again a good portion of the crowd had gathered to express there gratitude for an enjoyable evening.

Thanks to all who said hello……….

It was quiet back at the hotel with the bar closed so i was off to my room to catch up on some reading and the jet lag. It’s a drive back to Wellington tomorrow so be sure to check in again.

If you attended the Regent on Broadway show please leave a comment

Auckland Town Hall
Sorry for the delay in updating the blog... Getting internet connection and some time has been a little difficult. Well firstly, we had a day to adjust in Auckland and it was time for a stroll around this fantastic city. I walked for a good 4 hours and visited the harbour area and also went up near the tower which is great to look at during the day and even better at night as the lights are turned on as you can see from one of the pictures I uploaded. The city has a great mix of many nationalities which also enjoys the choice of many different kinds of food which you would not find at home to enjoy. It was easy to sleep that night after all the walking and I think Tony and Mick and the rest of the gang took things easy for most of the day.

Well the next day, the first concert of the tour was that evening, and it was a great success; I think the venue was almost sold out. The crowd were a lively bunch and up for the craic from the start of the show. We played the Auckland town hall which is an old type historic venue. The jet lag has been a little annoying but as the saying goes, the show must go on……

After the show, a large crowd had stayed behind to meet the lads and get autographs. I met some very nice people, thanks for saying hello; hope you like some of the pictures I took….

After all was finished and the last fan left for home we got our bits together and made for the hotel. The eyelids were falling; this could not be helped so it was off for some serious sleep. If you attended the Auckland show please leave a comment

Many thanks

OZ and New Zealand the beginning
Hi All

It’s hard to believe the tour is near to commencing. All my equipment and guitars have been re strung and tested and everything is in order. I left Home yesterday at 1pm and met up with Tony, Mick, Moyra, Seamus and Ollie for the epic journey to Auckland, New Zealand, where our first concert of a busy schedule starts on Friday Night.

We got our bus from Mullingar up to Dublin Airport where we checked in our equipment and bags and luckily had a flight that was able to leave amidst all the drama of the Iceland Volcano which has been causing Havoc lately. We have been very lucky as usual…..

The trip to Kuala Lumpur was great, the plane was not full, so Ollie Seamus and I were able to locate our own seats and stretch out for a nap along the way.

I booked into a lounge in Kuala Lumpur, had a shower to refresh along with some drinks and a few nibbles to prepare for the last stretch to Auckland, so I have an internet connection to get the blog under way

All is running smoothly so we will be looking forward to meeting everyone who will be able to attend any of the New Zealand or Australia Shows. I'll do my best to keep the blog regular as long as i have an internet connection, stay in touch and please don't be afraid to leave some comments

Take care

The Regent Theatre, Ipswich
We arrived in Ipswich on Saturday form the previous night in Weston-super-Mare to have our day off before our last night on Sunday in the Regent Theatre. We spent most of the day travelling as the journey was 232miles. We made a few stops along the way for food, papers and coffee to break up the day. I spent most of the day listening to my music collection on my Ipod so this was great.

When we arrived in Ipswich we booked into our hotel and arranged a time to meet up later that evening for a meal. We all met at 7pm and selected form a choice of steaks, curries, chicken ect to keep us going. Their was plenty of craic had over a few wines and the night was thoroughly enjoyed.

When I awoke Sunday morning it was hard to believe the tour had come to an end so quickly. 18 nights away from home only felt like 7. This is obviously a good sign that what we do is enjoyable and not really like work. It is rewarding to meet the fans after the shows, knowing that an enjoyable night was had. Thanks to everyone who attended the UK Shows it was great.

The Regent Theatre is a large venue and was one of the highest attended shows on the tour. Once again the crowd responded from the start and joined in with the all the songs, to bring to a close a great final night with Foster and Allen. After the show we went out front and signed posters, brochures, CD’S and even old Foster and Allen records that some people had brought along on the night.

When all the activity died down is was time to organise our equipment for the journey home. Seamus and Aidan headed to Holyhead to catch the Monday morning sailing while the rest of us waited for our flight home form Stanstead on Monday.

Craig the Bus driver dropped us to the airport at 11am on Monday. We said our goodbyes to Jim & Craig who then headed home to Scotland. We checked in, had a coffee and made our way to the gate for departure. The flight took 50minutes and when we arrived in Dublin the bus was there to take us to Mullingar. I said my goodbyes and got in my car and made my way home to Leitrim. Everyone was delighted to see me including my dog. Today it’s back to normal for a short while before we leave for New Zealand and Australia for a long tour in about two weeks. Once again I hope everyone who has been following the blog has enjoyed it and thanks to everyone for leaving comments. Please don’t be shy and leave some comments if you have not done so already.

I’ll be back with the Australia and New Zealand blog soon I will let all know as soon as we begin

Take care

The Playhouse Theatre, Weston-super-Mare
It was a short trip from Cheltenham to Weston-super-Mare on Friday. Te journey went well, and there was time to take a walk around the town on what was a lovely sunny day.

We arrived at the Playhouse for 5.30 and got busy doing our chores for the night ahead. We have played this venue many times in the past so it was good to be back in familiar surroundings.

After a great show we went to a local pub to hear some live music and have a drink. Seamus & Aidan joined us for a coke before they drove to Ipswich that night. The music was good with tunes form the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s getting played by the local band, it was good fun.

So another night down with a day off on Saturday in Ipswich with the final night of the tour on Sunday.

I’ll be back shortly to keep you up to date with the happenings and sorry for the delay in posting this on time.

If anyone reading this attending the Playhouse show please leave a comment

Thanks

Town Hall, Cheltenham
I got up at 8.30 for the breakfast yesterday morning, before we all left Croydon at 9.30 to make our way to Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, the famous town of horse racing.

It was 122 Miles and took us around 3.5 Hours to get there, with a few stops along the way. When we arrived it was straight to the hotel to get organised as we only had an hour or two to clean up and grab a shower before making our way to the Town Hall.

The Town Hall is a lovely old style room with all the detail and trim from long ago lovingly restored. After the sound check we went back stage and made the sandwiches and tea which was enjoyable. Jim Hughes, the tour manager has a great talent at picking nice English ham… good man Jim; we would starve without you…. 

Pamela, Pauline and Denis Wakefield from the Foster and Allen appreciation society arrived at the show and came backstage for some tea and a chat. They were busy gathering information for the next newsletter and signing up new members.

The Show was also attended by Tony’s sister and her husband, It was great to see them there again when we are over in the UK.

The show was full of happy people who enjoyed themselves and left with a smile on their face. Plenty of people formed an orderly queue to meet Tony and Mick after the show for pictures, autographs and a chat.

We loaded up the bus and went back to the hotel for drinks and a chat. The craic was good and a nice end to an enjoyable evening.

Bryan

Fairfield Halls, Croydon
It was the Fairfield Halls in Croydon on Wednesday night. We made our way across London at around 11am and booked in to the hotel at 1pm. It was time for some lunch so off into the town of Croydon to look for something tasty to eat. I’m on about food again, not a good sign, but at least it’s not cake…….! Found a buffet Chinese and got stuck in with an array of different curries and other chicken dishes. The belly was full so then it was time for a good walk as the sun was shining. We have been lucky with the weather on this tour, it’s been great and it’s supposed to reach 22 degrees this Sunday so I hear today, excellent…..

We left for the venue at 5.15 and done the usual routine of setting up our own instruments, getting them in tune and making sure the sound was correct for the show. After we had our bit done, Seamus got to work down the hall and got things sounding sweet.

The crowd started rolling in at 7pm; it was an 8pm show so, half an hour later than all the previous show so far. The evening was lively yet again, their really has been a great response to all the shows so far which has been great as it’s makes life that bit easier when people join in with the songs. Tony and Mick received a loud encore for more on the night. We packed our gear up and went to the front of the venue where a large crowd had gathered to receive an autograph form the lads. Once all the duties were complete it was back on the bus and off to the hotel to relax.

Let’s have more comments if you are keeping in touch with the blog on whatever you would like to say.

Many thanks

The Beck Theatre, Hayes
The Beck Theatre, Hayes

It was a grand Day off in London. I met up with my sister for the day and caught up with the news. I made my way back to Heathrow on Tuesday evening to get prepared for the show and then we all met and made our way to the Beck Theatre.

Their was plenty of regular faces at the show which included Simon, Peter , Ian and Tony’s son was at the show as he now lives in London.

The Beck theatre is a regular and popular venue for Foster and Allen and once again their was a great turnout with everybody settling in from the start and joining in with the craic.

Thanks for all the compliments after the show for the fields of Athenry; I’m happy plenty off you enjoyed it.

Moyra was busy signing copies of her CD for the guests while Ollie mingled with the crowd and was in good sprits.

We packed our Stage wear onto the bus and got back to the hotel around 11pm. Another hotel a different room, I starting to miss my own bed, theirs no place like home after all. We leave today at 11.30 and head to Wembley first so Tony and Mick can collect new suits. We then head to Croydon and check inn and make our way to the Fairfield Hall this evening for another show. Hope to see you their

Bryan

Garrick Theatre, Litchfield
Our day off in Litchfield was relaxing, a walk around the town was enjoyed but it was difficult resisting more cake, so I stopped off in Costa Coffee and had a coffee with a small piece of cake, Tony strolled past and joined me, so we had a good ole chat and watched all the action unfold on the streets of Litchfield.

We arrived at the venue at 5.30 where Seamus was hard at work organising and testing the equipment for the show. The sound check got underway and got the thumbs up from Seamus. It was the usual tea and sandwich backstage and the computers came out so all could check emails and keep in touch with back home.

The show kicked off at 7.30 to a full house. It wasn’t long before the crowd were clapping along and singing to the songs. At the interval the lads done their clothes change for the second half while the rest off us made a cup of tea.
It was back for the second half of the show at around 8.50. When Tony and Mick walked on stage a big cheer and a few ohhs from the ladies set the atmosphere, we then launched into the first song. The night progressed as expected and all seemed to enjoy the craic. After the show it was straight out front to talk to the crowd, good to see Betty and Sharon at another show, hope you enjoyed it.

We went back to the hotel and had a few drinks to unwind and sorted out the winning for our Scottish Grand National sweep stake. Mick got first, Tony got third and I got second place. So I had £10 to buy a few drinks, not to bad.

It’s off to Heathrow today; we have tonight off so I’ll meet with my sister who lives in London and catch up with all that’s happening.

Grove Theatre, Dunstable
Hello Everyone

The trip form Buxton to Dunstable was straight forward with a few stops on the way to fill up on some coffee & cake. We will all have to start watching the waistlines; it's very easy for them to expand during a tour!! We do love our food thought...

We arrived in Dunstable early enough with some time for a walk around the town, (to work off the cake!!) We went down to the fantastic Grove theatre for our sound check at 5.15pm and upon finalising that it was off for more tea & cake and a few ham sandwiches.

The night was a huge success with an extremely lively crowd form beginning to end singing & clapping to all the songs & tunes. The encore was the most energetic yet on the tour.

After the show we made our way to front of house to meet as many as possible. They were plenty of familiar faces, Simon & Peter & Mick Tight made an appearance. I have put up picture lads!!

We stayed over in Dunstaple and made our way to Lichfield today. The weather is a fantastic 17 Degrees; the town is alive with plenty of Ice cream in demand. I went for a walk upto to the amazing Lichfield Cathedral. If you ever visit, make your way their and enjoy the sights. They really were talented people whom constructed such a detailed building. We have a well deserved night off tonight, I think after 8 shows in a row. Some nice food & few drinks will definitely be on the cards tonight. We can relax tomorrow also as we don't need to travel. Talk to you tomorrow

Corn Exchange, Kings Lynn
We all arrived in Kings Lynn at around 1pm today so we got the chance to walk around a few of the shops and take a look around. It's a little cooler today so the jacket was on and a coffee was the first stop after we booked into the hotel.

We arrived at the venue at 5pm and set up our instruments. Sheamus Cullinane then got stuck in to make sure the sound was delivered to another expected packed house. After the soundcheck we made the tea & sandwiches and put the feet up before the show.

Another great night was had by all the crowd and yet again Tony and Mick were called back for more by an excited crowd.
We finished off with with a lively medley of Irish songs and then made our way to front of house to meet some of the fans and sign some CD'S. Thanks again to everyone who bought my new CD, i hope you enjoy it.

We finished off the night with some tea and toast and now it time to put the head down as we are off to Dunstable at around 10am after a good ole full english.

Grand Opera House, Buxton
We travelled to Buxton today, it was a nice scenic drive on the winding roads of the peak district. Beautiful views and clean fresh air worked up a good appetite.

Mick and Moyra unfortunately are a little ill today, a nasty bug has them feeling under the weather and not 100%.

As true professionals the show must go on and nobody could have guessed Mick or Moyra was not feeling great. The show went well and yet again everyone joined in singing the songs and laughing at the stories.

Their were plenty of familiar faces including Pauline & Denis Wakefield, whom look after the Foster & Allen appreciation society, Pamela, & Betty to name just a few, good to see you all again.

As Mick was not feeling well he was unable to sign at the end of the show, appologies to anyone who waited.

It's time for some sleep now so everyone take care. I'll do my best to get the updates quicker form now on, once again sorry for the delay

Bryan

Grand Opera House, York
We left Scotland Tuesday and made our way south to the historic city of York to play the very nice Grand Opera House. It's a beautiful theatre with plenty of character and a good house appeared to enjoy the show.

We had the munchies last night and went for some Indian food after the show, it was quite nice. Jim Hughes (tour manager) Craig (Bus Driver) Ollie, Moyra, Mick, Tony & I had a good chat with a few wines and a few stories.

It was off to the hotel for a well deserved sleep after what was a long trip down from Scotland.

If you attended the show please leave a comment.

thanks

Carnegie Hall Dunfermline
I do appologise for the delay in updating the tour blog. It's been busy, and getting an internet connection was a little difficult.

Carnegie Hall was another fantastic night in Scotland with plenty of fans waiting after the show to get a picture & autograph with Tony & Mick.

We all stayed in Dunfermline that night and had a few drinks to unwind after the show. It's great to have a bit of craic and a good laugh, nothing like it.

Glasgow Concert Hall
It's the Glasgow Concert Hall tonight and the weather is just glorious. The city was alive today with people making the most of the good weather. I'll have an update tomorrow on the show
